Public, nonprofit schools most affordable options for consumers

GetEducated.com, a consumer advocacy group that reviews, rates and ranks online colleges, has released the Top 28 Best Values in Online Colleges offering
bachelor’s degrees in psychology and human services.

Colorado State University-Pueblo ranked #1 on GetEducated.com`s affordability rankings for its four-year distance social science degree, priced at $18,000.

Florida State University`s online bachelor`s in social sciences ranked second as the most affordable option for Florida residents at $19,390. (Out-of-state
residents pay $77,000.) Adams State College of Colorado ranked third at $19,600 for all online education students.

The average cost for a distance learning bachelor`s in psychology or human services is $40,676.

Thomas Edison State College (New Jersey)

Empire State College-SUNY (New York)

Northwestern State University (Louisiana)

Troy University (Alabama)

Charter Oak State College (Connecticut)

Columbia College (Missouri)

Only one school on the Best Buy list was private: Columbia College, a nonprofit.

The most expensive distance degrees in human services come from Drexel University (PA) ($104,000), and Mercy College (NY), ($78,000). Both are private
colleges with residential campuses.
